Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the star in the following the terrible crash.
