The President Invites Relatives of Shot Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their honor.

White House Offer

The president stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, informed the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum processing and cease providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with honor, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
