Eulogies Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the movie, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order put a restriction on the cases to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a public database noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

After the killings, public figures shared divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive remarks that were widely condemned by several individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics recently. Talking on his program, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they revealed a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser should have intervened when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
